‘VALEDICTORY
FUNCTION ’
The Valedictory
function 2006 was held on the 29th March 2006 for
the 3rd Year students, F. P. P and F& B students .
Mr. Samir Khanna, Area Director of the Taj Group of
hotels, Goa was the Chief guest.
It began with the Welcome address by the Principal
Mr.Roque D'cruz.
Mr. Saurabh Sakhalkar was adjudged the best outgoing 'Student
of the year'. Students were awarded prizes for
the various competitions held in the Institute during the
academic year 2005 - 06.

‘GENESIS
2006 ’
Goa Medical College organised this
inter-collegiate event on the 10th and 11th
March 2006.The Institute won the first place, including
the First place for Mr.& Ms. Genesis.
‘GERMAN
LANGUAGE COURSE ’
German language
course is being conducted at the Institute premises for
Tour guides. The course commenced on 30th
January and will be for a duration of 3 months. The course
is being offered free of charge under the Capacity
building for service providers programme (C. B. S. P).

(R.K.H.S) conducted the 2nd 'National Chef Competition'
for its employees on the 25th
February 2006 at the Institute premises.

‘VEGETARIAN
CUISINE’
A vegetarian cooking class was held on 11th
February 2006 for a group of 21 Swedish people; co-ordinated
by Chef. Olla Johnson.The guest were welcomed with
traditional 'Aarti- Tikka'. They enjoyed cooking
and then relished the delicious Indian vegetarian
food prepared by them. The cookery class was conducted by
Ms.Lisa Dias and Ms.Gitanjali Verma assisted by
students of 1st year Bsc in H&HA. The service was co-ordinated
by Ms.Donna D'Souza and Mr.Pankaj Kumar.

‘COLLESEUM
2006’
This
inter-collegiate event was organised by I C F A I,
Porvorim on the 17th and 18thFebruary
2006. A number of Management events, Fashion show and
dance competition were held. The main event was the title
of 'Gladiator' which was won by Rahul Kar of 3rd year.
The Institute won the 1st place overall;
including 1st prize for fashion show and dance
competition.

‘LEX’
'Lex' was organised
by the Salgaonkar College of Law, Miramar at the
Kala Academy on the 15th Feb 2006. The
institute participated in the following events - War of
DJ's, Group dance competition, Fashion Show, and won the
1st place.
‘ALUMNI
- STUDENT INTERACTION SESSION’
The Alumni
Association of IHM-Goa organised an 'Alumni-Student
Interaction Session' on the 17th February
2006 at the Institute.5 Alumni from different fields were
invited to share their experience and enlighten the
students of 3rd year BSc in H&HA.
The speakers were Mr. Moses Fernandes (1987 Batch),
Ms. Neeta Sen (1991 Batch), Mr. Vikram Antao
(1991 Batch), Mr. Vincent Ramos (1992 Batch) and Ms.
Colleen Sequeira (1998 Batch).
The Principal Mr. Roque D'cruz, H. O. D's Mr.
Sanjeev Kadkade and Mrs Donna D' Souza also said a few
words.

'CHEF
COMPETITION’
The XXth All India Students Chef
Competition was held at IHM Bhubaneswar from 7th
– 9th February 2006.
IHM Goa represented by Sushil Multani, Rakesh Kumar
and Jyoti Singh won 1st place in
the Indian round and 3rd place in
the International basket round.
Sushil Multani won the ' Best Student Chef of the
year ' award and Rakesh Kumar won the 1st
prize in vegetable& Fruit carving .

AID CLASSES ’
First Aid classes were
conducted by the 'Red Cross Society of Goa', for
the students of the 3rd Year B Sc in H&HA
from the 6th to the 9th February

The XXth All India Students Chef
Competition is being held at IHM Bhubaneswar from 7th –
9th February 2006. IHM Goa is being represented by Sushil

A O E S QUIZ
COMPETITION
The Agarwal overseas education services
quiz competition was held on the 19th January 2006 at
Mumbai. In all 30 Institutes participated. I H M - Goa
represented by Mr. Harshad Makasare(3rd year), Mr.Varun
Bhatnagar (3rd year) and Miss. Tinneilhing Haokip (1st
year) ranked 4th place in the final round.

EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION
An educational excursion was organized for
the students of 3rd year Bsc in H&HA on the 27th
October 2005.The places visited were Montana bakery
at Corlim , The Sahakari spice farm at Ponda and The
Kingfisher Beer factory, UB at Ponda.
MEDITERRANEAN FIESTA
The students of 3rd year organised a Theme
buffet 'Mediterranean fiesta '
The guests enjoyed the music played by the college band,
ballroom dances and the variety of Mediterranean
specialities .
